Aria’s Story

Meet Aria, our little super hero. She was diagnosed at seven weeks of age with Tuberous Sclerosis. Tuberous Sclerosis in an uncommon genetic condition which causes noncancerous growths (benign tumors), in parts of the body, most commonly in the brain, eyes, kidneys, heart, lungs and skin, although any part of the body can be affected.

She’s been on quite the journey including physical therapy since seven weeks of age, chemo medications, and brain surgery at the age of 1 year-old. She has low muscle tone which makes it harder for her to maintain good posture and joint alignment. Most recently, Aria has been working on walking unassisted. She had tried all the things and hit a plateau with her physical therapy. Her mother thought, “Why not give chiropractic care a noninvasive, gentle, treatment option a shot? Why not add chiropractic care as a piece of her healthcare?”

After her first adjustment with Dr. Lauren, Aria went home and did two things she has never been able to do before, stand stable unassisted, and move from a sitting position to standing, both important building block movements for walking. She is more balanced, stable, and confident in her movements. She still has a journey ahead but we are so excited that chiropractic has unlocked some new progress and is allowing her to thrive!!
